The show opens with Jack Korpela and Matt Striker as commentators. They advertise John Cena's response to the Rock that will play later in the night as Chris Masters makes his way to the ring. Master's opponent is Tyler Reks. As he makes his way down, Striker and Korpela discuss the attack that Reks committed on Masters after his match last week on Superstars. The two men exchange blows and Masters attempts to place the Master Lock on Reks, but he escapes to the outside of the ring. When Reks reenters the ring, he takes control of the match as the commentators play up his physical abilities, pointing out that he has taken out the Big Show before. They are clearly promoting Reks as a serious future threat. Striker points out while the match is going on that John Cena will be on Smackdown tomorrow night. Masters takes over the match, shoving Reks' head into the steel steps. Masters tries to shove Reks' back into the steel ring post, but Reks' reverses it, sending Masters into the steel instead. They're both outside the ring, with Masters lying on the ground as the commercial hits.
